About

The Zainabia Islamic Society is a non-profit organization established over 20 years ago by community members living in the Inland Empire area of Southern California. As the Shia community has grown in the Southern California region, ZIS has also grown from a community of several hundred individuals to a community of several hundred families. The proliferation of Shia imambargahs in the area demonstrates the Southern California Shia community’s devotion to Islam and teachings of the Prophet and the Ahlulbayt. ZIS shares the goal of all our sister imambargahs to foster a community atmosphere amongst our members, with a special focus on the youth.With the establishment of our imambargah building in Pomona, California, ZIS seeks offer a forum for our members, most importantly the youth, to engage in a mutual dialogue with other Muslims and scholars about Islam, its values and its teachings; to advocate for charitable causes; to observe religious events; and to meet, communicate and socialize with fellow Muslims.
